Entry 164: Tom Jones Comes To Town
Greetings to the World once again!

So I’ve had a really fresh air weekend with some nice sunny weather.
I cycled 54 miles on a road bike which wasn’t fun for my bum. I went to the beach with some friends and played volleyball and sandcastles.
But the best thing from this weekend was seeing Sir Tom Jones in concert at our local race course!

Mum had paid for family entry so it was me, mum, dad and our neighbour (since my Sister is on another new job at the moment) but Dad opened a railing and we got about 30 yards from the stage so we could see Tom as clear as the giant screens for those watching far back.
Most people were smartly dressed for the horse racing that afternoon but I arrived at about 8:00pm when the last few races were on.

It was a great hour and a half of standing and luckily I had done my homework of listening to some of Tom’s classics which I heard that night like Green Green Grass of Home, It’s Not Unusual, Thunder ball and a personal favourite Delilah! Oh and not forgetting Sex Bomb!
Of course there was one flying set of knickers and a woman taking off their bra but I don’t think Tom was bothered that much.
I had a moment where I just shouted “WE LOVE YOU TOM JONES” and a few people did cheer after me so I felt good!

I’d only heard briefly Tom had been sacked from The Voice recently. It’s a shame since he’s lived and can become one of the ultimate coaches in singing! At least Will.I.Am is still around so one of the original judges is still there.
But hey it was cool seeing Tom leave the race course like a boss in a helicopter!

I’ve got a Tom Jones T-shirt from that night which I will show off to the world. Who knows one day I could meet the legend, but if I can’t then I just say “If you can’t meet them, join them”!

Early night for me, I am exhausted and need sleep with jobs to find and drawings to finish! Until next time as the song Delilah goes “I felt the knife in my hand, and she laughed no more!”
